White Bass

Craig and I went fishing this morning to Plum Creek, took my Jon boat and rowed over to the Red Barn. We had ultra lights looking for crappie. Rigged up with 1/16 oz jig heads with a tube on the end. I caught one crappie and then saw some white bass surface after bait fish down the cove just out of casting range.

Craig took a few pumps on the oars and I gave my best long cast and hooked a white right now! We stayed on them for 2 hrs, changing to hard metal 3/4 oz Cast Masters lures. We just hammered on the fish every few minutes and then slowed down to every 5-8 minutes. We gave up at 10a and had 21 whites. Smallest 12", but darn near all 13-15" long. The bigger ones weighed almost 2#.

Yum for eats for sure.

Guess whats for dinner ?
